Westgate Global were recommended to Caddick Construction, a family-owned construction and civil engineering business, to help with their latest project at Stretford Mall in Manchester.
Hoardfast Firescreen was used to create a tunnel and barriers. These particular panels are 80mm thick white steel faced with a mineral wool filling. Using this type of hoarding is a strategic approach when used in the public sector, to enable construction works to continue whilst keeping the public safe and also maintaining access to retail stores.
The 52.5 linear metre tunnel needed to be created using 60-minute fire-rated panels as well having weatherproofing properties, due to the roof of the building being removed it therefore left the site open to the elements during the phased works. The Hoardfast Firescreen panels also act as barriers and can serve as crowd control measures, especially during high-traffic periods while also allowing for efficient security.
Our external solution, Hoardfence, is designed with sustainability in mind, consisting of modular uPVC recyclable panels and was used to provide site compound storage for the on-site welfare and storage facilities within the construction project. This external hoarding system enables construction sites to work safely and securely.
A key benefit for this project is the design of our modular hoarding systems, that mean they can be reused in different phases of the project, as they can be dismantled, relocated and reconfigured as required.
In total, 341 linear metres of hoarding was used on site, along with counterbalance kentledge blocks (for use with Hoardfence), with 2 double mesh vehicle gates at 6 metres wide (3m per leaf), one for each compound and one pedestrian door entrance.
