Hoardfast creates welfare and office spaces for five floor office fit out project

A live office environment and a demanding refurbishment programme

Signature London, one of London’s most respected fit-out specialists, is known for delivering high-quality interior solutions for high-profile clients. At Shropshire House, their team delivered a multi-phased refurbishment project while maintaining full building occupation, carefully sequencing works and value-engineering every aspect of the programme to minimise disruption and maximise commercial impact.

The project involved improving the building’s EPC rating from D to B, decommissioning outdated heating systems, replacing windows, and installing new mechanical and electrical services throughout the property. Key communal spaces were upgraded across the building, including lifts, reception areas, and stair cores, alongside selected CAT B fit-outs, creating functional and tailored working environments for existing tenants, including Space NK.

With tenants in occupation throughout the programme, ensuring the safety and comfort of workers, containing dust and noise across active floors, and preserving a professional environment for businesses continuing to operate within the building were all paramount to the success of the project. Signature London asked preferred supplier Westgate Global to provide dust and noise control measures, and fit-for-purpose welfare accommodation using Hoardfast modular temporary internal hoarding.

A solution built around an occupied building

Westgate Global supplied two solutions from the Hoardfast range. Hoardfast PVC panels were installed floor-to-ceiling to create fully enclosed, dust-free welfare spaces, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and storage areas. Having amenities immediately accessible on each floor meant workers could maintain productivity and well-being on site, without the time lost travelling to and from off-site facilities. In central London, where tight space and restricted access make external portable cabins impractical, Hoardfast enables the quick installation of on site facicilites.

Where tenants needed to continue business as usual, Hoardfast Soundscreen panels were installed floor-to-ceiling to create a private office space for confidential meetings, effectively minimising noise pollution from the construction activity taking place around them. The clean, seamlessly fitted panels maintained the premium look and feel expected in a high-end commercial environment, ensuring secure and well-defined internal boundaries across every occupied and active floor.

The lightweight, modular nature of Hoardfast enabled fast installation with minimal disruption, and panels were cut to fit around existing services, lighting, and structural features. Vision panels were incorporated where needed to allow natural light into enclosed areas. On completion of the project, Signature London retained the space as a permanent meeting room for business-sensitive discussions.

A system designed to go further

Beyond the immediate demands of the project, the Hoardfast system supported Signature London’s broader sustainability ambitions. Rather than single-use temporary structures, the panels were designed to be reused and relocated across future projects, with any end-of-life panels returned to Westgate Global for recycling.
