Anchorwall creates a structured, efficient workspace at Ford Dagenham

Creating a defined workspace without disrupting operations

Ford’s Dagenham factory has a rich legacy of excellence and a reputation as a world-class manufacturing facility. With a focus on producing advanced diesel engines and acting as a hub for innovation in greener logistics, the site operates at pace, with equipment, vehicles, and personnel moving continuously. Carving out a dedicated workshop area within this environment presented a clear challenge: the solution had to be strong enough for long-term industrial use, while occupying as little floor space as possible and allowing work to proceed around the installation.

The new workshop space needed to be clearly delineated, secure, and adaptable. It also needed to accommodate both pedestrian access and the free movement of equipment and products throughout the facility.

Anchorwall delivers a robust, flexible partition wall solution

Following consultation with the Ford team, Westgate Global installed Anchorwall, an industrial partition wall that offers the strength of traditional steel construction with the flexibility of a modular system. As well as durability, Anchorwall installations benefit from a minimal footprint, and the flexibility to be reconfigured or relocated as operational needs change.

Double skin Anchorwall was selected for this project, providing additional strength and acoustic performance suited to the factory environment. The system’s modular design enabled a quick, clean installation with no unnecessary disruption to surrounding operations.

Two runs of Anchorwall were installed. The first run spanned 23 metres wide by 2.7 metres high in solid double skin panels, with 1.3 metres of mesh fencing installed above. The second run measured 18 metres wide by 2.7 metres high, also in solid double skin, with a further 1.3 metres of mesh fencing to the top.

The installation also included a fire door and a matching steel sliding gate, 3.5 metres wide and 4 metres to the top rail, comprising 1.2 metres of solid panel rising to 4 metres of mesh fencing above. The sliding gate was a critical element of the design, enabling the movement of equipment and product in and out of the workshop without compromising the integrity of the segregated area.

The successful installation created a clearly defined, clean, and efficiently organised workspace within the factory, improving workflow and supporting Ford’s operational requirements without interruption to the wider site.

Having previously delivered partitioning solutions at Dagenham, including our Flexiwall fabric wall partition, Westgate Global came to this project with a thorough understanding of Ford’s standards, site constraints, and expectations. This relationship meant the installation was planned and executed with confidence, integrating seamlessly into the existing factory layout.
