Professional, noise-reducing, high-quality hoarding for live settings

Company: BW: Workplace Experts

Location: 16 Palace Street, London

Overview: Clean, professional sound reducing hoarding for live environment

Solution:  Hoardfast uPVC and Hoardfast Soundscreen

The reception area of the building needed to remain both functional and visually appealing while the renovation works took place, requiring protection for the tenants without sacrificing the aesthetics. Additionally, as the renovation included demolition work in a high traffic area, it was imperative that soundproofing solutions were used to avoid disrupting day to day operations and to maintain the integrity of the tenant experience.

To address the sound challenges posed by demolition work, Hoardfast Soundscreen panels were installed. The 50mm thick, mineral wool filled panel has perforations to one side which help to absorb and reduce noise. Manufactured from materials with limited combustibility, Hoardfast Soundscreen is tested to EN13501-1 A2 s1 d0. These perforated sound reduction hoarding panels allowed construction to proceed without disturbing the building’s regular operations, effectively containing the work noise.

Both BW and the end client were highly satisfied with the results. Both the Hoardfast uPVC and Hoardfast Soundscreen products not only met the visual and functional requirements but also delivered superior acoustic performance. The project was completed smoothly, allowing the building to operate as normal while renovation works continued.

Hoardfast uPVC panels provided a clean and professional look within the lobby and reception area, ensuring a high-quality finish while also protecting tenants. Westgate Global provided a free-standing system with offset weighted supports designed for crowd loading in high-footfall areas. This stability solution is perfect for locations that must stay open, as it not only reduces the risk of toppling but also ensures there are no protruding trip hazards on the public-facing side, enhancing both safety and accessibility.
