When they took on a complex office refurbishment in Manchester, they needed a hoarding partner who could deliver across multiple environments simultaneously, without disrupting the live site.

The project presented three distinct and demanding requirements: securing an outdoor compound against unauthorised access, separating live reception and office areas from active construction, and creating enclosed welfare spaces for workers. Each zone called for a different hoarding solution, and all three needed to be installed quickly, safely, and with minimal disruption to the ongoing operation next door. Having worked with Westgate Global previously, TSK Group had confidence in both the quality of their products and the reliability of their service.

Securing the outdoor perimeter

Westgate Global supplied Hoardfence to secure the outdoor perimeter. The free-standing system requires no ground excavation or permanent fixings, making it ideal for a live site where minimising disruption was essential. Its variable hitch connections allowed posts to be set perfectly plumb despite uneven ground, while its durability ensured it could withstand on-site conditions throughout the project.

Protecting the live working environment

The most sensitive challenge was maintaining a safe and functional reception and office area immediately adjacent to active construction. Hoardfast Firescreen EI60 (certified to EN 13501-1:2008) was quick to install, providing a fast, safe division of spaces. Its tongue-and-groove panels formed a dust-tight seal that protected reception staff from both fire risk and construction debris, while its mineral wool core kept noise disturbance to a minimum. TSK Group complemented this with an entrance turnstile, ensuring access control and worker safety at the boundary between the two zones.

Creating compliant welfare spaces

For the on-site welfare and setup areas, Westgate Global supplied Hoardfast PVC. The system has non-porous panels, which are easy to clean and maintain, making Hoardfast uPVC ideal for welfare areas, canteens, and rest spaces where hygiene standards matter. They are made from 80% recycled materials and can be fully recycled after use, in line with the project’s ESG focus.

The modular nature of Westgate Global’s systems made installation quick and easy. The team also took advantage of the graphics-ready surfaces of both Hoardfence and Hoardfast panels, applying branded visuals that enhanced the experience for workers and passersby alike.
