Reusable dust containment solution for live construction environments
Drawing on decades of experience delivering live-site protection in complex, mission-critical environments, the Westgate Global team worked collaboratively with Winthrop’s project team to fully understand the site conditions and operational constraints before proposing a solution. Rather than using a standard off-the-shelf product, the team engineered a bespoke design that would create a reliable dust barrier between commissioned and live-construction areas.
Constructed from the company’s tried-and-tested Hoardfast solution, the team designed and constructed three separate dust protection bubbles. Installed floor-to-ceiling, interlocking Hoardfast PVC panels and access doors were used to create dust-tight temporary airlock zones, helping Winthrop continue construction while protecting commissioned data centre areas from dust transfer. The bright-white PVC panels were quick to install, saving valuable site set-up time and minimising disruption to surrounding construction activity.

Manufactured from 85% recycled material, the dust-bubble reduces the embodied environmental impact of the temporary works compared with single-use alternatives. Its reusable, relocatable design means it can be redeployed on future phases or projects rather than discarded, supporting Winthrop’s commitment to reducing whole-life costs and environmental impact. The ability to recycle the Hoardfast panels at end-of-life also ensures the solution leaves no lasting waste footprint.
The success of the dust containment solution reflects the strength of the ongoing partnership between Winthrop Technologies and Westgate Global. Working together, the two teams were able to protect the commissioned spaces while keeping the wider construction programme firmly on schedule.
