Hygienic screening for world class food manufacturing plant
Since its founding in 2015, Huel has grown to be one of the most recognised nutrition brands in the world. At the heart of Huel’s success is an unwavering commitment to quality: in the ingredients it selects, the manufacturing standards it upholds, and the regulatory frameworks it operates within.
Delivering on that commitment demands manufacturing standards that are commonly associated with pharmaceutical production, with every product developed by nutritionists, food scientists, and quality assurance specialists to meet exacting specifications. Getting this right consistently, batch after batch, at scale, requires world-class manufacturing.
To achieve that, Huel invested in a state-of-the-art manufacturing and warehouse facility in Milton Keynes, which opened in 2024. Producing its Powder and Hot & Savoury ranges for UK and EU customers, the site was designed from the outset to reflect Huel’s uncompromising approach to quality, including the permanent segregation of the dry powder process area from the rest of the warehouse, a requirement to meet strict hygiene and food safety standards.
When the original enclosure installed by the base-build contractor was found to require an upgrade to meet fire-resistance requirements, Huel moved quickly. The solution had to be permanent, fully compliant, and delivered without interrupting production.
Westgate Global conducted a full site audit and specified Flexiwall, a tensioned fabric partition system purpose-built for large industrial environments. Covering 1,000 m², the installation met Class B fire rating in accordance with EN 13501-1 while also meeting the strict hygiene requirements of a food production environment.

A Fastflex fast-action door, sized for the high-reach forklift trucks operating in the area, was integrated to maintain operational flow through the space.
