Allied Glass is an independently owned premium glass bottle manufacturer, designing, developing and manufacturing luxury glass packaging. When they needed to create a temperature-controlled environment for their curing processes, they turned to Westgate Global. The result was a bespoke, fire-rated Flexiwall partition engineered to meet both their operational and safety requirements.
Fire-rated Flexiwall fabric provides temperature control and fire safety
Headquartered in Leeds, Allied Glass (now owned by Verallia) is a leading name in the UK premium glass packaging market, operating four furnaces and employing around 600 people at a factory that generates over 95% of its revenues. Having worked with Westgate Global previously and seen the performance of Flexiwall firsthand, Allied Glass returned with a new challenge: creating a partitioned area within their factory that could maintain a controlled temperature for curing processes, while also acting as a compliant fire break between production and storage.
Fire safety in a high-temperature manufacturing environment
With four furnaces operating continuously across a busy production floor, fire safety is a serious operational and regulatory consideration for Allied Glass. Businesses that fail to adhere to UK fire safety regulations risk significant consequences, with insurance requirements adding a further layer of obligation. A partition that could act as a genuine, certified fire break between production and storage was essential. Westgate Global has seen a steady increase in demand for exactly this kind of solution, and Allied Glass was a project that called for precise engineering rather than an off-the-shelf answer.
