Flexiwall divides warehouse space and creates a temperature-controlled zone

Project 1: Warehouse division to meet the demands of new contracts

After successfully winning a new client contract, DB Schenker needed to segregate their existing warehouse into two distinct areas. The solution was required to contain dust, control temperature, and provide operational separation. Westgate Global recommended and installed the Flexiwall partitioning system to address these challenges.

The Flexiwall system was used to create two independent zones for new contract logistics and long-term storage, as well as minimising dust contamination to preserve the integrity of stored goods. The system also provided temperature control, protecting employees and temperature-sensitive goods from the elements when external loading doors were open during colder months.

The installation spanned four runs of Flexiwall, totalling 87 linear metres at 10 metres high, with two pedestrian access doors. Rigid foam seals were fitted between purlins to create airtight barriers between the zones. The system was installed around existing racking and above an existing office and mezzanine, with the lightweight panels hung from roof level, tensioned, and fixed securely to the floor.

Westgate Global also supplied and installed 76 linear metres of heavy-duty angle along one side of the partition to protect it from forklift damage. The modular design of the system ensures it can be easily reconfigured or expanded as DB Schenker’s operational needs change in the future.

Project 2: Temperature-controlled zone for new warehouse

In a separate project at a newly built facility, DB Schenker required a dedicated temperature-controlled area to store sensitive goods. Westgate Global again proposed Flexiwall as the solution, utilising its superior insulation properties to maintain consistent temperatures, reduce energy consumption, and support operational efficiency.

Complementing the Flexiwall installation, Westgate Global also recommended and installed mesh Anchorwall as a protection and safety barrier system for an area used to store a mobile crane. The mesh panels maintain visibility and air circulation while serving as a health and safety barrier. The installation included multiple doors and a bespoke sliding gate, positioned adjacent to the external logistics doors.

Together, Flexiwall and Anchorwall provided DB Schenker with a flexible, cost-effective, and energy-efficient enclosure solution, well-suited to both current operations and future adaptability.
