High footfall brings high expectations for busy retail site

Home to IKEA and the largest Marks & Spencer outside London, Gemini Retail Park is one of the most visited retail destinations in the North West, a location where footfall is consistently high and first impressions matter.

When Audas Project Management Ltd were managing a fit-out project for a prominent retail brand at Gemini retail park, they needed a hoarding solution that would look good and perform reliably. With shoppers passing through the store every day, the retail client wanted to ensure safe division of spaces and minimal disruption to staff and customers during the works. Having worked with Westgate Global in the past, Audus were confident they had a hoarding solution that would meet the brief. 

Hoarding that is attractive and functional

Westgate Global recommended the Hoardfast PVC system, a modular internal hoarding solution designed specifically for live retail and public-facing environments. The tongue-and-groove connection ensures a tight seal for dust containment, improving safety in live environments, while the clean, bright white finish helps maintain the overall retail appearance and enhances the customer experience.

Crucially for a project of this nature, Hoardfast PVC can be installed without the mess, delays or floor damage associated with traditional timber hoarding, a significant advantage in a busy retail environment. Its lightweight and modular nature makes for quick installation, minimising downtime and keeping to project timescales.

The system gave the customer the option to apply vinyl graphics, making the hoarding an attractive part of the store environment. Double doors with vision panels were added to the finished installation, ensuring the hoarding remained functional, safe, and compliant throughout the works.

There’s also a sustainability dimension worth noting. Hoardfast PVC panels are manufactured from 85% recycled materials and are fully recyclable at the end of their working life, something increasingly relevant to retail brands with sustainability commitments of their own.

The installation was completed within the quoted one- to two-week timeframe. Both Audas Project Management Ltd and the retail brand were happy with the outcome.
