Flexiwall segregates warehouse storage areas into temperature controlled zones
Great Bear is a leading UK ambient 3PL business, providing nationwide contract logistics and supply chain management services to a wide range of companies and managing in excess of 7 million sq. ft. of warehousing.
When the warehouse needed a partition that would deliver both odour and temperature control at a warehouse storage facility in Deeside, North Wales, they turned to Westgate Global. The partition needed to segregate two storage areas: one for chocolate, the other for soup liquids and powders. Having worked with Westgate Global on previous projects, Great Bear was confident the team had the experience to design, supply and install the required wall.
Odour and temperature control
Segregation of the two areas was essential. Chocolate absorbs odours from its surroundings and requires cool, stable storage temperatures, while the neighbouring soup liquids and powders are strongly aromatic and generate fine dust. Without an effective barrier that provides odour, temperature, and dust control, the stock would be at risk of taint and spoilage, making the partition’s performance critical to product quality and food-safety compliance.
For this project, Flexiwall was the ideal choice. A suspended, modular panel system, Flexiwall hangs from the building’s existing steelwork, making installation fast and efficient. The unique v-overlap panel connection creates a 99% airtight seal, providing a thermal barrier that ensures the two sections can operate at different temperatures.

The team installed Flexiwall FP560 sil-cloth fabric, which has an extra coating that stops odour permeating the fabric. It also carries a one-hour fire integrity rating (previously approved by insurer FM Global), and its thermal properties enable the two enclosures to operate at different temperatures.
