Solution: Flexiwall
Unitspark, a leading wastewater management company, faced the challenge of contamination control at their Basingstoke sewage cake barn. To protect their equipment from potential damage caused by contaminants, Unitspark decided to implement Flexiwall fabric partition walls.
Two runs of Flexiwall partitioning were installed at the Basingstoke sewage cake barn:
- Run 1: Dimensions: 23 metres wide x 3.1 metres high
Hung off an existing purlin and securely battened down to the existing precast concrete retaining wall. Two new steel corner posts were installed to provide additional support at a height of 6.6 metres.
- Run 2: Dimensions: 35 metres wide x 3.1-5.8 metres high
The Flexiwall partition was hung off an existing main portal steel, maintaining structural integrity. The partition was fixed at one side to a corner post and at the other side to the existing wall. To achieve a dust-tight seal, a rigid FR foam block was installed above the main portal to fill the purlin gap and seal the steel angle against the existing wall. Two steel openings were incorporated to accommodate the conveyor, ensuring uninterrupted operation.
