Overview: Storage division for dust and contamination control
Solution: Flexiwall

PD Ports is a UK shipping and logistics company who own and operate the Ports of Tees and Hartlepool under the name Teesport. They were looking for a cost effective way to divide storage areas within their facility, providing dust and cross contamination control.
PD Ports approached various companies to find their solution and ultimately chose Westgate Global because of our competitive pricing, the superior quality of our product and our extensive experience in installing fabric partitioning solutions.

The installation team completed the work to programme, on time and on budget. All edges and openings were sealed as expected and we were pleased with the outcome of the project.

Flexiwall was the perfect solution to divide the relevant storage areas for dust and contamination control. The unique v-overlap joining system provides an over 99% dust tight seal. And because the product can be designed to fit any size and shape of building and will easily installed around existing ducts and pipework, no gaps are left around the edges.
For this particular project the client chose a heavy duty FR 850 blue fabric starting from the floor and extending up to 3.5 metres high. Not only would this add extra protection against accidental damage, but it provides a clean and smart aesthetic. We added a row of cleats at 3.5 metres high to allow the bottom partition to be removed and/or replaced at anytime without the need to replace the whole partition. The client chose a translucent FR 630 P fabric to be fitted above the blue, from 3.5 metres to the roof line to provide maximum light transit between zones.
The great thing about Flexiwall is that it’s quicker and cleaner to install and can even be reconfigured, removed or relocated should business needs evolve. There’s also no need for additional intermediate support framework and is installed using the existing structure and curvature of the building.
Included in this project were two double skin, powder coated, steel pedestrian escape doors with vision panels and closers. We also supplied and installed new Armco crash barriers on both sides of the partition. From when the order was placed to the finished project was 10 weeks.
