Fire-rated and weather proof hoarding for Multiplex slab-to-slab construction phase

Sector: Commercial & Residential New Builds

Company: Multiplex

Location: Marble Arch Place, London

Overview: Site offices and welfare facilities

Solution: Hoardfast Firescreen

Having previously worked with Westgate Global to provide site offices and welfare facilities on a new build construction site at 22 Bishopsgate in London, Multiplex reached out to Westgate Global again to provide Hoardfast, a quality temporary internal hoarding solution, which is backed by a reliable customer focused service.

During the initial phases of the Marble Arch Place project, Multiplex had established off-site offices and welfare facilities, but as the project progressed there was a need to relocate site facilities to the construction site itself. Multiplex are passionate about ensuring on-site employees have excellent working conditions, offices and welfare facilities that maximise productivity and motivation.

For this project, Multiplex were supplied with 220 linear metres of Hoardfast Firescreen, a 60 minute fire rated panel, and 30 linear metres of standard Hoardfast. Both products formed their internal site office and welfare facilities, including a canteen and break area, separate male and female toilets, offices, meeting rooms and a prayer room.

As Hoardfast was being used at the slab-to-slab construction phase of the project, Multiplex required a temporary hoarding system that could achieve a 1-hour fire rating as well as offer insulation properties to ensure the offices and welfare facilities were weather-proof.

Multiplex also chose Hoardfast as they required a solution that could be installed and then relocated and reconfigured to suit additional project phases. Hoardfast site rooms also help with CDM compliance, have hire and purchase options, a variety of panel, height and support options and can be configured to suit the specific project requirements.

In order to minimise waste on-site and reduce the environmental impact of this construction project it was also important that the hoarding could be diverted from landfill and recycled at the end of the project. Westgate Global worked with Multiplex to ensure that at the end of the project panels could be demounted and returned to Westgate Global for recycling.
