How much does an industrial fabric partition wall cost?

We often get asked ‘How much does a Flexiwall cost?’. The short answer to this is ‘it depends’ – with every project being completely bespoke to your project requirements, building and site specific wind loads, there’s no quick, easy answer. But what we can give you is an average square meterage rate and some indication as to what will raise or lower the price.
On average Flexiwall, our engineered PVC coated fabric partition walls cost circa. £85 per sqm. Then there are multiple factors that impact the total price:
Size
The bigger the partition, the lower the average square meterage cost. Flexiwall partitions are made of individual panels, joined by a unique 99% dust-tight v-overlap system.
Taller partitions generally take longer to install and cost more because panel widths are narrower. This is to ensure, for safety, the weight per panel doesn’t exceed 30kg. Narrower panels will require more v-overlaps along the length of the run, and this then means more time is needed to join those panels together, compared to shorter partitions, which use wider panels and therefore require less v-overlaps.
Material type
Our standard material type is FR630C. Other material options can alter the cost of a partition. The options we offer are: FR680C – antifungal for high care areas and food factories; FR850C – heavy duty, for permanent external projects; FR1000 Foam – with a foam back, for sound and/or heat transfer reduction and FP460C – increased fire rating to meet to EN13501-1 A2-s1-d0.
Hanging method
Where possible, we will hang the partition wall from existing steelwork in the building. However sometimes the partition needs to go between beams/stanchions so we will install extra steelwork – this will increase the price and is dependent on the amount of additional steel needed.
Wind loadings
If your partition is for external use, or in a building with large doors, it is likely to be subject to wind loadings. Our in-house Structural Engineer will assess the wind loadings required for the partition and specify additional bracing and straps to ensure it can take the extra pressure.
Installation
Installation requirements can also impact the total price of your partition, such as normal hours, out of hours or weekend installation.
Ease of access to the area
The simplest partition wall project to install is in an empty building with lots of space from floor to ceiling on both sides of the required partition’s location. However, most of the time, there may be racking to work around or even fit in between, machinery fixed to the floor, services in the roof, etc.
The more penetrations, the longer it will take to fit the partition around these, hence an increase in the cost. For example, a 30m wide x 8m high partition, with 20 penetrations could increase install time by one day.

Penetrations won’t stop us from fitting the partition, as that is one of the many benefits of using a fabric partition wall compared to traditional methods, but it will require more time during the installation process and therefore increase the cost.
Extras
Adding accessories to your partition, such as fast action doors or access points, vision panels, protective crash barriers and corporate branding can also impact the price. As a multi-product supplier, Westgate Global can provide you with a fully integrated solution to your partitioning requirements from a single, trusted specialist supplier.
