Mission Critical Project Protection

Designed to accelerate and de-risk your construction programme, Flexiscreen external weathering protection and internal dust containment solution is crucial to the success of your mission critical projects

Flexiscreen is a structurally designed and engineered, tensioned fabric construction screen, proven to de-risk, protect, and accelerate your mission critical programmes. It provides superior inclement weather protection, insulation, sound and dust control, and can be custom-designed to any height and length to suit your mission critical project’s unique requirements.

Temporary Weathering Screen

Temporary Weathering Screen

Enable fit out works to commence early

Flexiscreen weathering screens ensure the build programme is independent of weather, reducing the critical path by weeks or months. Weather delays can push build programmes behind, Flexiscreen is designed to mitigate this from the outset.

Flexiscreen can be installed prior to cladding installation to allow internal fit out works to proceed, regardless of whether the cladding is in place or not. Hung from the existing deck, cladding works can continue whilst the screen is in place. Wind load calculated, screens can be used in high wind locations and be fully compliant for temporary works.

Protecting your build programme, employees, materials and equipment from adverse weather conditions, Flexiscreen ensures both safety and efficiency of your mission critical project.

“This means that the programme is no longer weather dependant on two critical path activities – the slab pour and the cladding installation.”

Temporary Dust Partition

Temporary Dust Partition

Enable phased handovers and protect early access or live areas

Flexiscreen protects areas undergoing fit out and live operational areas, when those areas are adjacent to areas where works are still taking place.

Segregating dusty internal works from areas ready for fit out works and equipment installations, Flexiscreen enables internal phased handovers of clean rooms for early operations. The superior dust and weather-tight partition ensures containment, and clients live operational facilities are protected from ongoing internal works.

As clean rooms advance, screens can be relocated and used multiple times throughout the project.

“This dust screen is invaluable. It keeps the completed area totally clean allowing us to concentrate on the rest of the build.”

Engineered for long-term durability, Flexiscreen is designed to stay in place without failure. Fitted to the inner building frame, Flexiscreen allows cladding, concrete pours, and interior fit-out to proceed in parallel. Works can continue uninterrupted – no weather, dust or temperature disruptions, and critical paths stay on track.

Thermal insulation for temperature control allows slab pours to proceed in all weather conditions and interior fit outs to begin earlier. During phased handovers, Flexiscreen can be installed internally to shield clean rooms and live operational facilities from dusty processes – preventing dust and debris contamination into adjacent areas. Sound reducing properties can be highly effective for reducing noise transmission in the local environment.

The simple and quick installation of Flexiscreen saves valuable time on project timelines. Screens can be reused and relocated to new areas as the build programme develops. An adaptable solution, the screens can also be reconfigured or extended. This flexibility makes it particularly cost-effective for multi-phase projects.

We understand mission critical builds have high stakes, and that disruption can lead to failure, and serious consequences. Delays to critical path activities (such as cladding and concrete pours) caused by unforeseen site conditions such as inclement weather, or control of dust when activities overlap due to slippage early in the programme, can have significant consequences for project completion.

Whether your project is new build construction, an extensive extension programme or large scale renovation project, including Flexiscreen in your programme protects your critical path from the outset – eliminating critical delays and accelerating interior fit out.

FAQs

Flexiscreen weathering screen and dust partition solution streamlines processes and maintains timelines, contributing to the efficiency and success of your construction project;

  • Heavy-duty PVC coated fabric panels – robust alternative to scaffold sheeting
  • V-overlap seal – delivers an over 99% weather and dust tight seal
  • Structurally engineered – calculations for wind loading / air pressures ensure structural integrity
  • Wind straps add strength and stability – compliant with temporary works requirements
  • No supporting framework needed – hung from existing deck, no scaffold required. Maximises usable site space
  • Fitted to internal framework – ensures facade can be fully installed before removal of screen
  • No damage to floors – range of fixing options available for when floors must remain untouched
  • Quick to install – zero impact on programme or structure
  • Fits around protrusions – neat fitting around protrusions to maintain seal
  • Site safety compliant – durable and rubust fire rated material (include fire, pedestrian and equipment access points)
  • Designed for project flexibility – reconfigure or move as needed across phases.

Flexiscreen for weathering is installed off the existing deck – prior to mesh and concrete pour – and fixed to the main portal. As we install on the inside, the cladding can be installed from the outside as usual to meet programme schedules.

Internal dust partition walls are typically hung from existing steelwork, with no additional support framework required.

Flexiscreen is hung using s-hooks, tensioned to ensure it is taut, and then battened to the floor. Multiple fixing methods are available and can be customised to suit the project building and phases e.g. a specific design element in a slightly unusual building can be accommodated for and weighted floor fixing solutions are also available.

Robust, safe and durable, Flexiscreen has a 99% dust/weather tight seal, the highest level of seal available on the market. Whilst scaffold sheeting offers an effective 80% seal, it is highly susceptible to damage from wind and air pressure, and is very easily breached.

Structurally calculated, Flexisceen’s wind load straps ensure the screen remains taut and maintains its weather/dust seal. Screens can be angled if required, and protrusions do not stand in the way. Flexiscreen ensures superior containment, safety, and durability throughout the duration of the project.

Mission Critical Projects

Precision weather protection and dust control during extension project and phased handover

A global automotive OEM were undergoing an EV plant redevelopment. They needed to close off the end of the building to protect fit-out and MEP installations. As they completed parts of the build, they needed to hand areas back to the client to start installing the cleanrooms, so strict dust and weather control was imperative.

Engineered weathering screen to maintain consistent temperature for concrete pour

A data centre build in North Sweden close to the arctic circle was challenged with weather and freezing temperatures during the winter months. It was imperative that the build programme was not stalled by cooling temperatures. Flexiscreen enabled the contractors to maintain a consistent temperature for the duration of the concrete pour and curing.

Segregate new production line during commissioning from construction dust

We installed Flexiscreen at a global automotive OEM’s battery plant. The customised screen allowed the concrete slab to be poured underneath the partition, saving significant time in the programme. After the concrete slab had cured, installers returned to fix it to the floor. The screen regulated temperature in the Early Access area and protect the production line from dust.
